January 2009

On the first Sunday of 2009 we went for a walk on the beach at Crawfordsburn Country Park.

The park has 2 miles of coastline, a deep wooded glen and a waterfall.

The area was part of Bangor Monastery between the 6th and 12th Centuries and was probably partly farmed.

We, however, stayed on the beach this time and look forward to many Sundays in the park when the weather is maybe a bit warmer and Guinness can walk a bit further.

Showing sympathy when we were down with nasty colds - keeping the sofa warm for us.....    A saturday walk along the River Lagan
And here we enjoy our morning coffee at the LockKeepers Inn.  Back at Crawfordsburn for a Birthday outing - this time walking in the glen.

 They also have a coffeeshop
yyiikk - the water is wet!
And we're back at Crawfordsburn with Marc - this time we managed to see the waterfalls.

Unfortunately the rain came down so we had to rush our coffee
We took the boys along the scenic coastal Causeway on what was foercast as a day full of sun.  this is Carnfurnock Park in the rain  This is another park in hte snow

And this is Giants Causeway in galeforce winds,
lunch at Smugglers Inn -  here we were dry(!)
and of course we had to show Martin Bushmills distillery  Lagan Meadows is where I walk Guinness most days
